Amy McCarthy
Vice President, Healthcare
In college I took sociology as an elective and ended up finding my major. I was fascinated by the many aspects that can influence people’s thinking. While there, I coded news articles for a professor to earn extra money. I didn’t have a clue what I would do when I graduated, but then I saw an ad for a market research company looking to hire a coder. I ended up landing a project director job and the rest is history.
In my time at TRC I’ve worked with a lot of great people who have helped shape me into the researcher I am today. I’ve conducted research across many industries (banking, insurance, utilities, etc.) and methodologies (conjoint, max-diff, segmentation, focus groups, communities, etc.). For the past 10 years I’ve been focused on health care, which I truly enjoy.
In my current role I like figuring out the best approach to a client’s research problem. On the backend, I love diving into the data with my team and others to determine the story and how to best visualize it.
I’m a wife and mom to two great kids. I enjoy reading, working out and spending time with my family. Our favorite trip is our annual visit to Cape Cod.
Education: B.A. Sociology, Pennsylvania State University
