Jennifer Van de Meulebroecke is Executive Vice President at TRC Insights and a career-long specialist in healthcare market research. She joined TRC directly out of college — with a Yankelovich internship already under her belt — and has spent her entire professional life building deep expertise in health insurance, hospital systems, and healthcare services research. That decades-long commitment to a single firm and a single domain is itself a credential: clients in healthcare return to Jennifer because she understands their world, their regulatory pressures, and their business questions at a depth that project-by-project researchers cannot replicate.
Jennifer’s healthcare research practice covers the full spectrum of the industry. Her clients have included national and regional health insurance carriers across Medicare, Medicaid, Individual and Group lines of business, hospital and health systems, disease management companies, pharmaceutical organizations, and health technology businesses. Her work spans both the consumer and B2B sides of healthcare – from member experience, brand equity, and market segmentation to research among employers, brokers, and physicians – with a focus on pricing strategy, product design, brand strategy and messaging. All of it delivered with the hands-on involvement from design through final reporting that defines TRC’s senior-led model.
She is a published researcher in peer-reviewed scientific literature. Jennifer co-authored “Beyond ROI: Using Value of Investment to Measure Employee Health and Wellness,” published in Population Health Management (2016) alongside researchers from Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company, and the National Business Group on Health. The study — which applied MaxDiff analysis to understand how employers evaluate the business case for health and wellness programs — reflects her long-standing focus on translating research into practical business decisions.
Jennifer challenges clients to think differently about research design, regularly pushing both clients and TRC’s internal team toward approaches they hadn’t initially considered. TRC’s founder described her as “one of the top experts in healthcare research” who “personally built some of the best client relationships we have” — a reflection of the trust she has earned across a career defined by consistent quality and genuine partnership.
